After having had to transport our bikes in our cars for years without a rack, the question arose of how to transport bikes in a brand new car without scratching the interior to bits or injuring ourselves when removing them. There should be a device which supports bikes in the car and which simplifies the process of loading them, but nothing of the kind existed on the market. After a few different attempts, the first veloboy prototype was developed in a locksmith workshop.
The prototype was heavy and a little bulky, but all the essential functions were there. Bikes could be placed onto the veloboy outside of the car and then simply rolled into it. This made sense to many other bike riders and they asked where something like this could be purchased – which of course was not yet possible because it was only a prototype.
